Historic Blum Barn is one of the premier barn wedding venues in the Ann Arbor area. One of the largest barns in the area (6,100 sq. ft on 2 floors) & on the largest property (43 acres), located in Bridgewater, a small hamlet minutes outside of Ann Arbor, Historic Blum Barn is located in an area of rolling hills on a small working family farm complete with a pond, bee's, goats, sheep, cows, & chickens. This rustic restored wedding barn will please your family & help your realize your dream... from the country bride to the Bohemian artist in you. Engaged? We are making dreams come true with our incredibly beautiful venue on a historic property settled by Phillip Petrus Blum in 1832 from Bavaria Germany. Originally a dairy farm and then a race horse facility it has been converted to a wonderful country wedding facility that is sure to please.
In the 1960's the farm was converted from a dairy farm to a horse racing facility by associates of Jimmy Hoffa. The teamsters built a 1/2 mile race track and a huge block barn that housed 40+ race horses & even built a horse swimming pool. The farm remained a harness horse racing facility until 2014 when sold by the Buter's to the current owners.
Rachel, our 2nd daughter, immediately said she will one day get married in the barn & that dream was realized 5 years later in June 2019, with the first ever wedding held in the barn! (See photo's of the farm when we purchased it).
We believe that every Historic Blum Barn bride & groom deserves to be treated like our daughter or son - our family. We invite you to begin your journey with HISTORIC BLUM BARN.
Finally, we want to make your wedding day memorable & not a drive-thru experience. We are a 2.5 day venue. 1 day for set-up from 9 am to 5pm. 1 day for a wedding, then a half day for removal of any personal items.

An Exquisite Experience even if it rains...
Many brides want beautiful outdoor ceremonies and that is wonderful. Most venues don't have the space to host indoor ceremonies & indoor receptions. We are very fortunate that we have 2 exquisite locations with A/C & heat just in case the outdoor ceremony has to move inside because of the rain or the heat.
Come let's discuss our rainy day plan & match that with other locations that may have muddy grass under tents. If the weather does turns nice after a rain, we do have an outdoor patio with a wonderful paver & edison lights that drains & dries quickly so you do not feel like your competing in a Tough Mudder on your wedding day.

Our dedicated and detail-oriented venue staff guarantee the success of your special occasion by providing personalized services that meet and exceed expectations. Historic Blum Farm elevates any event allowing you to select your own Catering options to perfectly complement your celebration.
All food to be catered in from outside sources. Currently the venue is open to any outside caterer and we will provide a location for your caterer. We do have a list of caters that we recommend & they are listed in the vendors section of this website.
See the valley & the gently sloping landscape from the barn. We plan to have a local farmer plant a sunflower field to enhance those August weddings.
For the safety of all, the venue will provide a taxi service for the safe transportation of your guests to area hotels .

There are 2 floors in our barn for your wedding. This allows you to have an indoor ceremony location in case of rain. Lower level 6,000 + sq. ft. One of the largest in the area.
